When I visited Surabaya Zoo, I had the opportunity to see a unique and amazing bird - an owl. This particular owl caught my attention with its distinctive features and fascinating behavior. The owl I encountered was quite heavy, with a large head and an oval face. Its most striking feature was its round eyes. These eyes were not only large but also locked in the skull, preventing them from rotating independently. This characteristic gives the owl a fixed gaze, adding to its mysterious allure. While owls are typically solitary creatures, this particular owl was living in a group at the zoo. It was interesting to observe how they interacted with each other and maintained a sense of community within their enclosure. In terms of hunting, the owl's diet mainly consists of small mammals, insects, and other birds. Its ability to silently swoop down on its prey with precision and agility is truly remarkable. Witnessing this hunting behavior up close was a truly awe-inspiring experience. Overall, my encounter with the owl at Surabaya Zoo left me in awe of its unique features and amazing behavior. It was a reminder of the incredible diversity of wildlife that exists in our world.
