My Experience with Extracurricular Discussion Beyond Language Classrooms
Growing up, I have always been passionate about language and literature. In my early years of schooling, I excelled in my language classes, particularly in Bahasa Indonesia. However, it wasn't until I joined an extracurricular discussion club that I truly discovered the power of language and its ability to bring people together. The discussion club was a place where students from different backgrounds and language proficiency levels could come together and engage in meaningful conversations. It was a space where we could explore different perspectives, challenge our own beliefs, and learn from one another. Through these discussions, I not only improved my language skills but also developed critical thinking and communication abilities. One of the most memorable discussions I had was about the impact of technology on society. We discussed the pros and cons of technological advancements and how they have affected our daily lives. It was fascinating to see how different opinions and experiences shaped our understanding of the topic. We laughed, we debated, and we even cried together as we shared our personal stories and experiences. These discussions not only enriched my language skills but also broadened my worldview. They taught me to be open-minded, empathetic, and respectful towards others. They showed me that language is not just about grammar and syntax but also about connecting with people and fostering understanding. Looking back, I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the discussion club. It has been a life-changing experience that has shaped me into the person I am today. I hope that others can also find similar opportunities to explore language and discuss meaningful topics, as it has done wonders for my personal growth and development.
