To combat the pandemic, the Indonesian government has implemented various strategies, including legal politics. This article aims to review the legal strategies employed by the Indonesian government in handling the COVID-19 pandemic and their effectiveness. The Indonesian government's legal politics in response to the COVID-19 pandemic are guided by the philosophical, sociological, and juridical foundations outlined in Indonesia's health laws and regulations. These legal policies not only aim to prevent health problems but also anticipate the financial consequences and impact of the pandemic on the state's budget and the stabilization of the national economy. Through a literature review and analysis of health laws, regulations, and policies governing infectious disease outbreaks, it is evident that the Indonesian government has chosen legal policies that combine various constitutional provisions. These include the Health Constitution, Communicable Disease Outbreak Constitution, Regional Emergency Constitution, and Disaster Management Constitution. The legal policies implemented by the Indonesian government in response to COVID-19 are multifaceted. They encompass measures to prevent the spread of the virus, such as social distancing, mask mandates, and travel restrictions. Additionally, these policies also address the economic impact of the pandemic, with measures aimed at stabilizing the national economy and mitigating the financial consequences. The effectiveness of these legal strategies can be evaluated based on their ability to control the spread of the virus, protect public health, and minimize the economic impact. While there have been challenges and criticisms regarding the implementation of these policies, it is important to recognize the complexity of managing a pandemic of this scale. In conclusion, the legal politics employed by the Indonesian government in handling the COVID-19 pandemic go beyond addressing health problems alone.
