The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many schools and educational institutions to shift to online classes. As a result, my classmates and I have been attending our English classes online. In order to participate in these classes, I had to borrow my father's laptop. Our English teacher, Mrs. Rahayu, has been conducting the classes through Zoom, utilizing video, audio, and chat features. She has also established certain rules for the online classes, such as requiring us to wear appropriate clothing and muting our microphones when not speaking. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, there are several benefits to having online English classes. Firstly, online classes provide us with the opportunity to continue our education without any interruptions. We are able to learn and improve our English language skills from the comfort and safety of our own homes. This is especially important during these uncertain times when physical attendance at school is not possible. Secondly, online English classes allow for greater flexibility in terms of scheduling. With traditional in-person classes, we would have to adhere to a fixed timetable. However, with online classes, we have the flexibility to choose the most convenient time for our lessons. This allows us to better manage our time and balance our academic commitments with other responsibilities. Furthermore, online classes provide us with access to a wider range of resources and materials. Mrs. Rahayu is able to share various online resources, such as interactive exercises, videos, and articles, to enhance our learning experience. Additionally, we are able to utilize online dictionaries and translation tools to improve our understanding of complex English words and phrases. Lastly, online English classes promote the development of important digital skills. As we navigate through the online learning platform, we are exposed to various digital tools and technologies. This not only enhances our proficiency in using technology, but also prepares us for the digital world that awaits us in the future. In conclusion, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, online English classes have proven to be beneficial for students like me. They provide us with the opportunity to continue our education, offer flexibility in scheduling, provide access to a wide range of resources, and promote the development of digital skills. As we adapt to the new normal of online learning, we are confident that these skills and experiences will serve us well in the future.
