My second year of junior high school was filled with many exciting experiences, but one that stands out was our P5 Market Day. It was a chance for us to learn about business firsthand, and I was eager to participate. Our class was divided into four groups, and I found myself in a group of seven. We gathered to brainstorm ideas for what to sell and how to create an eye-catching stall. After much discussion, we decided on a menu of three dishes: rice, crispy sausage, and banana-chocolate (piscok). We also offered chocolate and strawberry pop ice as drinks. The day of the Market Day arrived, and we were all excited to see how our business would fare. Our pop ice, crispy sausage, and piscok were all popular choices, selling out quickly. However, we were disappointed to find that we had a lot of rice left over. We ended up taking it home, which meant we lost money on that item. Despite the loss, we all felt a sense of accomplishment. We had learned valuable lessons about planning, pricing, and customer service. The experience also helped us build confidence and teamwork skills. It was a reminder that even when things don't go exactly as planned, there's always something to learn and grow from. The Market Day was a fun and educational experience that I will always remember.
