Eid al-Fitr, a time of peace and tranquility, was celebrated with the resounding echoes of takbir in the streets. On that serene evening, I joyously engaged in setting off fireworks with my younger sibling, accompanied by the lively crackling of firecrackers that added to the festivities. As the sun rose on the morning of Eid al-Fitr, my family and I prepared for congregational prayers at the mosque. We welcomed the day with jubilation and gratitude. Following this, I readied myself to visit my grandmother's house, coming together to seek forgiveness, relish in the feast of meals and sweet treats, and share laughter and stories. The remainder of the day was spent visiting both close and distant relatives, engaging in the tradition of silaturahmi, receiving monetary gifts, and indulging in the sumptuous feasts laid out before us. A few days prior, my extended family and I paid a visit to the home of our late great-grandfather, gathering together with all the children and grandchildren living away from their hometowns to get to know one another. In conclusion, Eid al-Fitr is a time of immense joy, gratitude, and togetherness, where the spirit of celebration unites families and communities in shared happiness and love.
