As Alfian Ferdinand, I am proud to share my journey to becoming a proficient English speaker, which has been crucial for my career as a Captain in the Airbus A320 fleet at Citilink Indonesia. My journey began in June 2013 when I joined Citilink Indonesia, and since then, I have worked tirelessly to improve my English language skills. In January 2016, I was promoted to the position of Captain, which required me to have a high level of English proficiency. This is where the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) English Language Proficiency (ELP) test came into play. The IELP test is a standardized assessment that evaluates an individual's ability to communicate effectively in aviation-related contexts. On August 12th, 2024, I will be taking the IELP test at the Garuda Indonesia Training Center (GITC). This test will determine my level of English proficiency and ensure that I am able to effectively communicate with passengers and colleagues in the aviation industry. Throughout my journey, I have focused on developing my language skills in various areas, including pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and fluency. I have also practiced using English in real-world situations, such as communicating with passengers and navigating through airports. I am confident that my hard work and dedication will pay off when I take the IELP test. I am eager to showcase my progress and continue to grow as an English speaker. This test is not only a requirement for my job but also an opportunity for me to further develop my skills and enhance my career in the aviation industry. In conclusion, my journey to becoming an English proficient Captain has been a rewarding and challenging experience. I am excited to take the IELP test and continue to improve my language skills, which will ultimately benefit my career and allow me to better serve my passengers and colleagues.
