Apraxia (Neurogenic speech disorders)

= motor planning - person recognized difficulty with their speech - Groping - Can occur on its own or co-occur with other disorders (e.g. dysarthria, aphasia)

Apraxia is a neurogenic speech disorder characterized by the inability to perform learned movements, despite having the desire and the physical ability to do so. This condition is often associated with motor planning difficulties, where the person recognizes the difficulty with their speech and may exhibit groping behaviors as they attempt to form words or sounds. Apraxia can occur independently or in conjunction with other disorders such as dysarthria (weakness or paralysis of the speech muscles) or aphasia (loss of ability to understand or express speech).
