Untuk mengubah kalimat ini ke dalam Reported Speech, kita perlu merubah bentuk tenses "am going" menjadi "was going". b) She said that I had bought a lovely dress. Pada kasus ini, "have bought" diubah menjadi "had bought" yang merupakan bentuk past perfect tense.c) He said that they had been waiting outside. Untuk ini, bentuk past continuous "were waiting" berubah menjadi bentuk past perfect continuous "had been waiting".d) He said that he had found a wallet the previous week. "I found" merupakan bentuk past tense, maka diubah menjadi past perfect "had found". "Last week" diubah menjadi "the previous week" untuk menandakan waktu yang telah berlalu.e) She announced that she would answer the phone. "I will answer" menggunakan future simple tense, dalam Reported Speech berubah menjadi "would answer".Ingatlah bahwa dalam mengubah statements menjadi Reported Speech, kita harus merubah tenses dari bentuk aslinya ke bentuk yang sesuai dalam past tense, serta merubah indikasi waktu dan pronomina sesuai konteks.
