Mr. Bean was walking down the street, humming a tune to himself, when he saw a cat sitting on a windowsill. The cat was staring at him with big, curious eyes. Mr. Bean smiled and waved at the cat, but the cat just sat there, staring. Mr. Bean decided to try and get the cat's attention. He pulled out a small, red ball from his pocket and threw it towards the cat. The cat watched the ball roll across the ground, then slowly got up and walked towards it. As the cat got closer to the ball, Mr. Bean noticed something strange. The cat was talking! "Hello," the cat said in a squeaky voice. "My name is Mittens." Mr. Bean was shocked. He had never met a talking cat before. "You can talk?" he asked, his voice trembling. "Of course I can talk," Mittens said. "I'm a very intelligent cat." Mr. Bean was so surprised that he couldn't speak. He just stared at Mittens, his mouth hanging open. Mittens chuckled. "Don't worry," she said. "I won't bite." Mr. Bean slowly closed his mouth and took a deep breath. "So, what are you doing here?" he asked. "I'm waiting for my owner," Mittens said. "He's supposed to be back any minute." Mr. Bean looked around. He didn't see anyone else around. "Where is he?" he asked. "He's at the store," Mittens said. "He went to buy some milk." Mr. Bean nodded. He understood. He had been to the store many times himself. "Well, I guess I'll just wait here with you," he said. Mittens smiled. "That's very kind of you," she said. Mr. Bean and Mittens sat on the windowsill together and waited for Mittens' owner to come back. They talked about all sorts of things, from the weather to their favorite foods. Mr. Bean learned that Mittens loved tuna and hated broccoli. After a while, Mittens' owner came back from the store. He was surprised to see Mr. Bean sitting on his windowsill with his cat. "Mr. Bean?" he asked. "What are you doing here?" Mr. Bean smiled. "I was just waiting for Mittens," he said. "She's a very interesting cat." Mittens' owner laughed. "She is," he said. "She's always getting into trouble." Mr. Bean and Mittens' owner talked for a few more minutes, then Mr. Bean said goodbye and went on his way. As he walked down the street, he couldn't help but smile. He had just had the most amazing adventure with a talking cat. Mr. Bean never forgot his encounter with Mittens. He often thought about her and wondered what she was up to. He knew that he would never forget the day he met a talking cat.
