Once upon a time, there were three goats - the Middle-sized Goat, the Little Goat, and the Big Goat. They lived in a beautiful meadow near a river, but there was one problem. In order to get to the other side of the river, they had to cross a bridge that was guarded by a fearsome troll. One day, as the Middle-sized Goat was crossing the bridge, the troll appeared. "It's me, the Middle-sized Goat," answered the Middle-sized Goat nervously. "Oh, it is, is it? Then you're the very one I've been waiting for. I'm the Troll that owns this bridge, and now I'm coming to eat you up," growled the troll. The Middle-sized Goat was terrified. "Oh dear Mr. Troll, please don't eat me up! I have a brother that's a great deal bigger than I am. Just wait till he comes along, for he'd make a much better meal for you than I would," pleaded the Middle-sized Goat. "Very well then, run along and I'll wait till he comes. Only the biggest goat there is fit to be a meal for me," agreed the troll. The Middle-sized Goat wasted no time and hurried across the river and up the mountain as fast as he could go. He was relieved to see his little brother waiting for him at the top of the mountain. And now it was the turn of the Big Goat to begin thinking he'd like to go up on the mountain too. So the next morning, off he set in the pleasant sunshine. He was so big that you could hear his hoofs pounding on the stones while he was still a mile away. After a while, he came to the bridge where the troll lived, and out he stepped on it. The bridge shook and bent under his weight as he walked. The troll, seeing the enormous size of the Big Goat, was taken aback. "Who are you?" he stammered. "I am the Big Goat, and I am here to cross this bridge," replied the Big Goat confidently. The troll, realizing that he was no match for the Big Goat, quickly retreated and disappeared under the bridge. From that day on, the three goats were able to cross the bridge without any fear of the troll. They lived happily ever after, enjoying the lush grass on the mountain and the peaceful meadow by the river. In conclusion, the story of the three goats and the troll teaches us the importance of bravery and sticking together in the face of adversity. It shows that even the smallest of us can find a way to overcome our fears and protect ourselves and our loved ones.
