The Legend of Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih

Once upon a time in a village, there lived a happy family. The family consisted of a father, a stepmother, and two children named Bawang Putih and Bawang Merah. Bawang Putih's father was a merchant who often went on long trips to other countries. The grandmother found the lost garment and promised to return it to Bawang Putih if she helped clean her house. Bawang Putih gladly accepted the offer and diligently cleaned the house. As a reward, the grandmother returned the lost garment to her. To show her gratitude, the grandmother offered Bawang Putih a present. She asked whether Bawang Putih wanted a large or small pumpkin. Bawang Putih chose the small pumpkin and brought it home. This legend teaches us the importance of kindness and the rewards that can come to those who remain good-hearted despite facing mistreatment.
