One day, while she was weaving, one of her tools fell to the ground. Feeling tired and lazy, she shouted out for someone to bring her the tool, promising a special present in return. To her surprise, a male dog named Tumang appeared with the tool in his mouth. Dayang Sumbi regretted her words, but she couldn't deny her promise. She had to marry Tumang and leave her father behind. They settled in a small village and soon had a son named Sangkuriang, who grew up to be a handsome and healthy boy. Sangkuriang developed a passion for hunting, particularly deer. He would often venture into the woods with his faithful dog, Tumang, in search of his prey. One day, Dayang Sumbi desired the heart of a deer and asked Sangkuriang to bring it to her. Sangkuriang embarked on his hunting journey, but after several days, he couldn't find any deer. Frustrated and desperate not to disappoint his mother, he unknowingly killed Tumang, who was actually his father. He presented Tumang's heart to his mother, unaware of the truth. Dayang Sumbi, recognizing the heart as Tumang's, was consumed by anger and couldn't control her emotions. She struck Sangkuriang on the head, leaving a scar. She also banished him from her presence, filled with sadness. Years passed, and Sangkuriang grew into a strong young man, wandering aimlessly. One day, he arrived in his own village without realizing it. There, he encountered Dayang Sumbi, who had been granted eternal beauty by God, keeping her forever young. Unaware of their true identities, they fell in love.
